TU alumni crucial to the success of The National Aquarium and the Maryland Zoo were
spotlighted in two recent "Our Town" features in TU Magazine.
Sharon Bowen ’04 is one of the Maryland Zoo’s education managers. She focuses on school and teacher programs and oversees summer
camps. She also gives talks to some of the zoo’s 500,000 annual visitors, often with ambassador penguins.

Emily Anderson Kelly ’10, ’17 works in the Black Tip Reef exhibit at the Aquarium. The senior aquarist dives with sharks, stingrays and hundreds of colorful fish in the
Black Tip Reef exhibit. Kelly feeds krill, flakes and pellets to the fish, but the
sharks eat mostly squid—dropped into the water from land.
