The children and youths we serve are matched with a volunteer CASA advocate so that the two may spend one-on-one time together building a relationship. From there, the CASAs gather vital information about the child’s situation from teachers, therapists, social workers, and others involved in the case. Ultimately, they determine the best outcome for their CASA children and stand before the judge to advocate for the outcome that is in the child’s best interest.
In Baltimore County, there are nearly 600 abused and neglected children in foster care. With our current funding, we are able to provide CASA advocates for about 1/3 of those. We want to meet the needs of allfoster children in need of an advocate, and with your help we can!
