Metrobus Passengers Exposed To Pepper Spray
One person was sent to the hospital after passengers were exposed to pepper spray on a Metrobus in Wheaton, officials said.

WHEATON, MD — One person was sent to the hospital after they were pepper-sprayed on a Metrobus in Wheaton Monday evening, police said.
The incident occurred on a Metrobus driving near Georgia Avenue and Windham Lane, near Westfield Wheaton mall, fire officials said.
About four to five adults and two children were sprayed, and several of the passengers were medically evaluated at the scene, officials said. One adult was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The incident is considered a minor assault and no one has been arrested.
“Police arrived first and indicated that there were a number of patients on the bus that had been exposed,” Pete Piringer, the spokesman for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue, told WTOP. “Additional EMS resources were called the scene. A couple dozen first responders eventually would come and evaluate the passengers.”

A police spokesman said officers interviewed passengers and some had conflicting accounts related to how the incident began.
