The National Weather Service has put Massachusetts under both a wind advisory and a flood watch until 8 a.m. St. Patrick's Day.

The flood watch has already started.
"Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations," the National Weather Service warned.

"Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas," according to the National Weather Service. "Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain."
The wind advisory begins at 2 p.m.

"Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects," the National Weather Service cautioned. "Tree limbs could be blown down and some power outages may result."
"Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles. Use extra caution," the National Weather Service advised.

On the bright side, once the high winds and the flooding stop, St. Patrick's Day will be sunny with a high near 40 degrees.
Tuesday night will be mostly clear with a low around 20, and Wednesday will be mostly sunny with a high near 37.
