Boston Firefighter, National Guardsman Injured In Kuwait Drone Strike: Reports
Six were killed in the drone strike, according to reports.

A Boston firefighter and member of the Massachusetts National Guard member was injured in an Iranian drone strike in Kuwait, according to reports.
Mark Garcia is a major in the Massachusetts National Guard, per NBC Boston.

"Garcia was reportedly injured in an Iranian drone strike March 1 in Kuwait that killed six U.S. service members," the NBC Boston story said. "All six service members killed were Army reservists, military officials have said."

Gov. Maura Healey spoke with Garcia as he recovers from his injuries overseas, CBS News reported.
"'He was on site, he was in that explosion that killed those six people,' Healey said in a speech to the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday," according to CBS News.

"He's recovering right now in Germany and we will celebrate his return, his safe return in a couple of months," Healey said in the CBS News story.

Garcia is a firefighter with Engine 50 in Charlestown, FireRescue1 said.
"In a statement, Boston Firefighters IAFF Local 718 said it is 'incredibly proud' of Garcia’s service in defense of the United States," according to FireRescue1.
