A Chic Boutique for Less Opens in Andover

Bobbles & Lace, a boutique of affordable clothes and jewelry, opens their fourth store on Main Street in Andover.

Bobbles & Lace, a boutique of clothes and jewelry recently opened at 2 Main Street. With stores in Marblehead, the North End and Newburyport, the three-year-old company's mission is to offer stylish and affordable fashion to compliment the beauty of every woman.

"We are excited to open in Andover, after looking for space here for a year," said Valerie White, co-owner. The store takes over the space vacated by Undercover Wear which recently closed.

White, along with niece Lindsay Rose Rando, founded the company when they pooled their talents. Rando previously operated her own mobile boutique that sold to many college campuses in Los Angeles, while White owned Bobbles Jewelry in Marblehead and operated a pushcart on Newbury Street during the summer.

The stores are a family affair with Rando's mother working in Newburyport and her sister-in law Jessica Rando in Andover. White's own parents who have worked years in retail also help out.

"We consider ourselves stylists who work 1:1 with our customers," said White.

The clothing ranges from casual to dressy and every piece is priced under $75 and the jewelry is one of a kind and priced under $45. The only exception is the fashion earrings which sell for $10 or 3 for $25, according to White.

Customers visiting the store for the first time will immediately notice that the jewelry is arranged by trend; silver, gold, earthy, designer, etc. and that the clothing is by color. Bobbles & Lace also carries bags, belts and scarves. The Marblehead store also carries shoes.

"We carry only one of each size for the clothing, so you won't see the same dress everywhere," White said. She added they carry labels not normally found in department stores.

Their customers range in age from 13-80, and while some only come in for jewelry and others just for clothes, she said that most come in for both.

"Our jewelry is at the right price point for gifts, and we wrap everything up," she explained.

White said she is at the store Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays, while Jessica is there Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. The store hours are Sunday-Friday, 11am-5:30pm and Saturday 10am-6pm. Call 978-470-2320 or check out their website for more information.
