Andover Cuts Cost For Full-Day Kindergarten
Despite the cut, Andover remains one of 45 school districts that charges extra for full-day kindergarten.
ANDOVER, MA -- The Andover School Committee approved a measure that will drop the price of full-day kindergarten by $200 to $3,775 for fiscal year 2020. Parents can also receive an additional $100 discount if they register early. Of the 414 current Andover kindergartners, 369 opt for the full-day program. The half-day program is free to all students.
School Committee members said the popularity of the program allowed for the third price drop in as many years. But other districts offer full-day programs for free. Andover is one of just 45 public school districts in the state that charge for the full-day kindergarten option.
