Do-It-Yourself Home and Gardening Workshops

Learn how to Do-It-Yourself with these fun workshops!

This spring Andover DCS is offering two new workshops for adults who are looking to learn some do-it-yourself skills! The DIY Workshops will be run by DCS staff at High Plain Elementary School in the teacher’s rooms and will focus on home décor and gardening with succulents.

In the first workshop, the DIY Home edition, participants will learn how to piece together a fabulous center piece out of wine bottles, paint and burlap. The piece is versatile and would be great for hosting parties and can be displayed throughout any season. In addition, a wine rack that holds a bottle of your favorite wine, along with your wine glass will be made. This program will take place on Monday, May 11th from 6:30-8:30 pm.

The second workshop will focus on DIY Gardening with succulents. Participants will learn what succulents are and how they are different from other plants. Instructors will demonstrate and lead participants through the process of building a terrarium for their succulents, which they will get to bring home. This workshop will take place on Monday, June 8th from 6:30-8:30 pm.

Gardening

In this fun, hands-on workshop, you will learn how to garden with succulents. We will discuss what succulents are and how they are different than other plants in terms of planting and care. Instructors will also demonstrate and lead participants through the process of building their own terrarium; one of the most popular environments for succulents to grow and flourish. You’ll even get to pick out your succulents and make your very own glass terrarium, with plenty of design advice and hands-on help along the way.
