Get Ready for Summer With Basic Boating Course

This sail and power boating course includes everything you need to know for boat safety & obtaining license/certificate.

Beginning March 12th, DCS will offer Basic Boating taught by the Merrimac River Sail and Power member squadron of the United States Power Squadron, an organization that has promoted safe boating handling education since 1914. This sail and power boating course includes plotting and charting a course, time and distance formulas, marine radio, right of way, personal watercraft operation, boat handling in adverse conditions, knot and hitch tying, navigation rules, and boating regulations. Students will receive the knowledge to decide what type and size boat they need, proper handling when interacting with other boats, and how to recognize hazards.

Interested in getting your boating license? Well this course will also provide the knowledge and training that is required to obtain a boat license or safety certificate in most states that is recognized by the US Coast Guard. Many boat companies also offer discounts for those who have successfully completed America’s Boating Course! All that information for a five session course, at a low price of just $16, plus an additional $35 for the book/materials that are purchased in class (cash or check only).

Pre-registration is required and space is limited so make sure you get your spot today by registering online at AndoverDCS.com or calling 978-623-8274.
