SmartSwapp Creates Online Community to Swap Tasks and Save Cash

Boston, Mass. (May 10, 2016) – SmartSwapp, a new web-based app, launched today in Greater Boston and offers users the opportunity to swap tasks and professional services instead of paying cash. Founded on the age-old principal of paying it forward, SmartSwapp aims to create an online community of people helping people. SmartSwapp is funded by Kickstarter and plans to launch its mobile app later this year.

A Swapp occurs when two SmartSwapp Neighbors (users) swap a task with each other. This can be done two ways. You can Swapp for service, which is a one-for-one transaction determined by the users. Or, you can Swapp for credit, where one neighbor pays forward their time to the other in return for a Swapp Credit. There is no money exchanged on SmartSwapp – only tasks and credits.

SmartSwapp membership is free. You can sign up and browse services to give and to take. For the first month, from May 10 through midnight on June 11, SmartSwapp is waiving their connection fees and there will be no fees for a Swapp. Starting on June 12, there will be a $1 connection fee for every agreed-upon Swapp. Or, members can choose a monthly subscription of $3.99 for unlimited connection fees each month, or an annual subscription of $34.99. Once a Swapp is agreed upon and a user “Shakes on It," each account will be charged $1 (unless you are signed up for the monthly or annual unlimited plans). A Swapp credit is exchanged when a Swapp is “Marked Complete,” and at that time both parties will be prompted to review each other to continue using the site. Following the completion of the review, the Swapp Credit will transfer. Users can visit what is called the Wallet in their profile to review their Swapp history and credits.
