ACE presents first group travel opportunity to Tuscany and Umbria

Arlington Community Education (ACE) is partnering with EF Go Ahead Tours to present a first-ever group travel opportunity. Food and wine enthusiasts are invited to explore Tuscany and Umbria and discover the simple, honest flavors for which central Italy’s medieval villages and sweeping countrysides are known, from handmade pasta to wood-grilled steaks. Tucked away towns make up the core of the region, while the cultural capital of Florence offers urban elegance and historic remnants from the Renaissance. The trip runs May 9 through 19, 2020 and the cost of $4,299 per person includes airfare from Boston. The deadline to register is October 31.

Trip highlights include visits to Florence’s legendary Cathedral, the Duomo, and Siena Cathedral, home to works of art by Donatello and Pisano. Tour a Chianti winery and sample the region’s fine wines, and taste acclaimed Brunello grape wines in Montalcino. Cook traditional Italian dishes under the guidance of a master chef. View stunning artwork inside the 15th-century Collegio del Cambio and wander through the tunnels of Rocca Paolina, Perugia’s historic underground city. Then explore the medieval town of San Gimignano, “the city of beautiful towers” and the hillside town of Cortona and visit Lake Trasimeno

The package includes nine nights in handpicked hotels, breakfast daily, three lunches, three 3-course dinners with beer or wine, three wine tastings, one cooking lesson, guided sightseeing tours, multilingual tour director, 24/7 experienced group leader, and private deluxe motor coach.
