ARLINGTON, MA — State Rep. Dave Rogers honored Arlington resident Lisa Krinsky during the inaugural Commonwealth Pride Awards ceremony at the Massachusetts State House.

Krinsky was one of more than 100 people recognized on Wednesday, June 17, from communities across Massachusetts during the event, which was organized by the Massachusetts LGBTQ+ Legislative Caucus as part of Pride Month. The awards were created to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to LGBTQ+ communities across the Commonwealth.

Rogers selected Krinsky for her work as director of the LGBTQIA+ Aging Project at Fenway Health and for her service on Arlington's Rainbow Commission.

Krinsky has spent more than two decades advocating for LGBTQ+ older adults. According to Fenway Health, the LGBTQIA+ Aging Project works to improve the lives of LGBTQ+ seniors through advocacy, education, training and community-building initiatives. The organization says the program has trained more than 10,000 elder-service providers and staff in LGBTQIA+-affirming care and has helped organizations across Massachusetts develop more inclusive services for older adults.

In Arlington, Krinsky has been involved with local LGBTQ+ advocacy efforts through the Rainbow Commission and Rainbow Arlington, organizations focused on promoting inclusion, education and visibility for LGBTQ+ residents and families.

Krinsky has also contributed to statewide policy efforts, including serving as a founding member of the Massachusetts Special Commission on LGBT Aging.

In a social media post following the ceremony, Rogers said Krinsky's recognition reflected her contributions both through the LGBTQIA+ Aging Project and her work on Arlington's Rainbow Commission.

The event was held in the Senate Chamber at the State House and recognized recipients from legislative districts across Massachusetts.

Rogers represents the 24th Middlesex District, which includes Arlington and Precinct 9 in Belmont. He has served in the House of Representatives since 2013.
