Arlington Nonprofit Receives Statewide Grant Funding

ARLINGTON, MA — Food Link is among 17 Massachusetts nonprofits receiving funding through the latest round of grants from the Sincere Foundation.

The Framingham-based foundation announced Tuesday that it awarded $200,000 to organizations working to address food insecurity, housing instability, and access to safe spaces for children and families across the state.

Food Link was one of six organizations selected in the food security grant category. The Arlington nonprofit works to rescue surplus fresh food that would otherwise go to waste and distribute it to community organizations serving people in need throughout Greater Boston and Eastern Massachusetts.

Food Link is based in Arlington and partners with food donors and recipient organizations to help connect nutritious food with people experiencing food insecurity. According to the nonprofit, it serves communities across Greater Boston and Eastern Massachusetts while helping reduce food waste. It is headquartered at 108 Summer St.

The 17 grant recipients collectively serve more than 400,000 Massachusetts residents each year. This year's funding round included seven first-time grant recipients and 10 returning nonprofit partners.

"We are proud to support this remarkable group of nonprofit organizations and the essential work they do across Massachusetts," Sincere Foundation Executive Director Rebecca Reiner said in a statement. "Their collective impact strengthens communities throughout the Commonwealth and we are honored to help advance their efforts."

According to the foundation, grant recipients were selected across three focus areas: food security, housing stability, and safe spaces. Organizations receiving support in the food security category alongside Food Link include The Open Door in Gloucester, Worcester County Food Bank, Food For Free, and other nonprofits working to increase access to nutritious food.

The foundation has awarded more than $1.2 million to 63 Massachusetts nonprofits since launching in 2023. The organization is supported by Framingham-based Sincere Corporation, the parent company of brands including Punchbowl, Lovebird, Timehop, and Memento.
