April 24 Named Regent Theatre Day in Arlington

April 24th marks the 100th anniversary of Arlington's Regent Theatre

ARLINGTON, MA—The Regent Theatre has been entertaining audiences in Arlington for nearly one century, and now the Theatre will have its own special day.

The Theatre announced via its Twitter account Friday that the Arlington Board of Selectmen have officially declared April 24 as Regent Theatre Day. The theatre will celebrate its 100th anniversary on April 24, 2016, opening its doors in 1916.

The 500-seat vaudeville-style theatre has featured live music, concerts, theatre, dance events, comedy, film specials and more since 1916. Within the past five years, it has featured performances from Steven Tyler, Beatlejuice, Paula Poundstone and more.
