Arlington Bike Path Trees To Get Spring Makeover

The path will close a section at a time as work is done from the Lexington line to Cambridge.

ARLINGTON, MA — The DPW will perform tree work on the entire length of Arlington's bike path next month. Starting from the Lexington line and working east toward Cambridge, tree work will include removing standing dead trees, pruning dead wood, removing hanging dead branches and branches on the ground and pushing back vegetation.

The path will be closed to the public a section at a time. The DPW estimates each section will take a week; however, the schedule is weather permitting. Work will start at 9 a.m. and finish at 2 p.m. daily in order to minimize the impact to travelers.
