Arlington Bus Priority Pilot Ends
The month-long pilot program tested the effectiveness of a bus lane on Mass. Ave.

ARLINGTON, MA – The Arlington Bus Rapid Transit priority pilot ended Friday, Nov. 9. The pilot allocated a bus lane on the eastbound side of Mass. Ave. from Varnum Street to Alewife Brook Parkway during the week.
Buses will now travel in the regular travel lanes, and the area will not have traffic cones or a police detail, according to the town. Parking is now allowed from 6-9 a.m. on the eastbound side between Varnum Street and Alewife Brook Parkway.

A forum discussing the results of the pilot will be held Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. at Town Hall. Initial data showed the pilot saved five to 10 minutes of travel time, according to the Arlington Advocate.
