Firefighters Bryan P. Borges and Sean P. O’Brien can count themselves among the alumni of the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy’s 223rd class, according to a missive from the institution. The 45-day program for new recruits took place in Stow, Mass., and also included students from departments in Boxborough, Canton, Concord, East Bridgewater, Hanson, Haverhill, Holyoke, Littleton, Marshfield, Stoughton, Watertown and Wilmington.
Like the other graduates, Borges and O’Brien are now certified in the National Fire Protection Association’s 1001 national standards, and the Massachusetts Fire Training Council’s hazardous materials first responder operational level.
