Arlington to Host "Ham" Radio Classes This Weekend

This free class will help you everything you need to know to get started into amateur "Ham" radio

ARLINGTON, MA—While Ham radio may not be as popular as it once was, it is still a very fun and exciting way to communicate.

With that in mind, the Arlington Emergency Management Agency and Arlington Community Response Team is hosting a public Amateur "Ham" Radio Class this weekend, followed by an amateur radio exam.

The class takes place Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days.

The class will teach you all the necessary materials needed to get started into Ham radio and prepare you for the entry level Technician Class license exam at the end of class. It is free of charge and the examination fee on completion of the class is $20.00. Class participation is not required for the exam.

You can sign up with George Strassburger at gstrass781@gmail.com. Walk-ins are welcomed for the exam, but you are encouraged to register.
