Arlington Jaguars Win State Championship

The Arlington Soccer Club 6th grade boys select soccer team won the Massachusetts State Championship with a hard-fought 2-0 win over Ludlow on June 25 in Lancaster, MA.

The Jaguars won eight straight games against teams from all over the state to capture the title. After a strong season in BAYS (Boston Area Youth Soccer League), the team qualified for the BAYS tournament to compete for the right to represent the Boston area in the state tournament.

Arlington defeated Attleboro, Dorchester, and finally Marlboro in the final, a tense 3-2 thriller to advance to MTOC (Massachusetts Tournament of Champions).

The MTOC tournament is held at New England's largest soccer complex in Lancaster, MA and includes nearly 200 teams in age groups from grade 6 to 12. The Jaguars defeated Maynard, Topsfield, and Wilmington to reach the final.

In front of a large and enthusiastic crowd, Arlington beat Ludlow to capture the championship. The Jaguars are the third team in the history of the Arlington Soccer Club to win the state title. The ASC girls (U19) won in 2012 and another 6th grade boys team won the title in 2015, also under the direction of Jaguars coach Steve Buck.
