Arlington Police Arrest Man For Drugs

Police got a call on Saturday night about a man who was lying unresponsive on a bench on Mill Street.

ARLINGTON, MA — Police arrested an Arlington man on drug charges Saturday, July 22.

Around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, someone called to report a man that wasn't moving on the "sketch bench" on Mill Street. There, police found Alex Mitchell. But shortly after police got to him, he sat up quickly and said he was fine. However, police said he was disoriented and searched the bag he was sleeping on for the substance he may have ingested. Mitchell told police he'd only had a few drinks but police found contact cement, a small glass pipe, a marijuana grinder, and an empty package of Bic lighters with two obvious lumps in it. Because Mitchell had not called for medical help, and declined medical attention police arrested him for possession of Class B substance and cited him for possessing a small amount of marijuana, too.

Arrests do not imply conviction.
