Arlington Police Investigating Theft of Traffic Speed Monitor Display
The unit went missing Tuesday from Appleton Street.

Arlington Police are investigating the theft of the department’s traffic speed monitor display (pictured above), according to a department release.
An officer went to change the unit’s batteries Tuesday, Sept. 30, on Appleton Street, and it was missing from a pole near 391 Appleton St.
“The Arlington Police Department takes very seriously the theft of police property,” Arlington Police Chief Frederick Ryan said in a statement. “We will actively pursue leads until this unit is found, and those responsible will be held accountable for their actions.”

The unit was purchased in 2009 with grant funding, police said.
