Arlington's Guns And Roses.. er, Hoses, Raise Money for Charity

Arlington Fire and Police said they raised some $9,000 for charity in their annual hockey game.

ARLINGTON - The Arlington Fire and Police Departments may not be able to carry a tune the way Guns and Roses can, but together the Guns and Hoses raised about $9,000 for the Autism Speaks and Nashoba Learning Group. It was part of the town's annual Guns and Hoses Hockey game at the Ed Burns Arena earlier this month.

The two teams come together each year to raise money for charities and tease each other as they're doing it. The night was full of rivalry, raffles and an appearance by the Bruins Mascot Blades accompanied by the Bruins Ice Girls, according to a town press release.

And for those keeping score at home? The Arlington Fire Department beat the Police Department. The guys over at the Fire Department say it wasn't even close: Final score was 7-1. And there are rumors of a softball game in the works.
