23- year-old Courtney Jones has been a very active member of the Arlington community. She volunteers as a coach with both the Arlington Pop Warner as well as the St. Agnes cheering programs. She is also active in the Arlington Children’s Theater and has volunteered with the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life in Arlington for 14 years.
In May of 2014, Courtney was diagnosed with Fibro Lamellar Hepatocellular Carcinoma, a very rare form of liver cancer. This type of cancer typically affects young adults in their 20s. It is so rare that there are only 200 new cases diagnosed world-wide each year. Her disease has resulted in multiple hospital stays and surgeries. Her condition has limited her ability to work.
Valentine’s Day is coming soon. The Gallery is asking the local community to visit the gallery on February 12 to benefit their loved ones as well as Courtney and her family.
