Dennis Brennan Band Live
Celebrating Leland’s 25 Years at the Regent
“Rock, Blues, Roots—all around Soulful crooning backed by the baddest musicians around”
Celebrate Leland Stein’s 25 Years at the Regent with a fantastic night of music! The beloved (and original!) Dennis Brennan Band, featuring Duke Levine, Kevin Barry, Richard Gates, and Billy Beard will ignite the stage and raise the roof for over two hours of electrifying tunes–as they did for over a decade during their legendary residency at the Lizard Lounge.
Though incomparable in many ways, Dennis Brennan is Boston’s answer to the likes of Graham Parker, Bruce Springsteen, Leonard Cohen and Elvis Costello, and for good reason: His songwriting has earned him respect from both critics and fellow musicians with a voice that effortlessly navigates through classic country, R&B, jazz, rock, and blues. Whether you’re a long-time fan or new to his music, this is a night you won’t want to miss! Doors open at 8:15 PM and don’t expect to leave your seat until Midnight, so grab your friends and come enjoy a memorable evening filled with fantastic tunes and great vibes!
Acclaimed by Steve Morse–the sorely missed Boston Globe journalist and tireless supporter of the Boston Music Scene–Dennis formed the DBB in 1992 and started his solo career, quickly releasing two critically acclaimed recordings on Upstart Records, a division of Rounder. In 2000 he released “Rule #1” on ESCA Records which resulted in glowing reviews from The New Yorker, The Chicago Sun Times, The Boston Phoenix as well as other publications worldwide. These recordings showcase Brennan’s ability “to not just tip toes into genres, he strips naked and plunges right in.” Bill Holmes, AMPLIFIER.
*Reserved Seating limited to 175 tickets only for this special event.*

What happens when suffering meets compassion?
As a struggling young boy, Lobsang Phuntsok was sent to a Tibetan Buddhist monastery—a life-changing process that helped him heal and find his purpose.
After years as a spiritual teacher in the United States, he felt called to return to his birthplace in the remote Indian Himalayas to create Jhamtse Gatsal (Tibetan for “The Garden of Love and Compassion”), a home for wounded children like himself.
This community is inspired by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s lifelong commitment to compassion and today has become a living example of how pain can be transformed into love.
Loving Karma expands the Emmy-winning short film Tashi and the Monk into a feature-length documentary by returning to Jhamtse Gatsal twelve years later and picking up the stories of Lobsang, Tashi, and the new arrivals she is learning to care for.
Can community and compassion really heal even the deepest wounds?
Johnny Burke is an award-winning director and editor. Beneath their surface drama, his films often include an exploration of the human psyche, delving into complex issues involving trauma and interpersonal relationships with humour and an empathetic touch.
His work has won various awards, including the Outstanding Short Documentary Emmy, Banff Best Film Adventure and Exploration, and Amnesty International Best Documentary.
Andrew Hinton is an Emmy-winning independent documentary filmmaker based in Portland, Oregon. Originally from the UK, he produces evocative, self-shot documentaries rooted in human resilience, hope, and social change.
His acclaimed work includes Tashi and the Monk, Amar, and This Is Where I Find Myself. He is father to two young children whose existence inspires daily humility and an occasional state of wonder.
