Event Details

Cyrus Dallin Art Museum, 611 Massachusetts Ave, Arlington, MA, 02474

Attention artists, aspiring artists, and anyone who enjoys art!

On Saturday, July 25, from 1 to 3 p.m., enjoy a relaxed and fun summer afternoon of artmaking in the beautiful—and renovated—Whittemore Park!

Whittemore Park is located in front of the Dallin Art Museum, 611 Mass Ave, at the corner of Mass Ave and Mystic St in Arlington Center. Parking is available in the lot behind the museum, off Mystic St.

Everyone is welcome

Artists of all ages and experience are welcome to attend this free annual event sponsored by the Dallin Art Museum. Bring your favorite art supplies and create a new piece or fine-tune a work in progress. The museum will provide general instructions and extra supplies.

“We at the Dallin Museum love this annual summer event. It’s a great way for kids, parents, and any budding artist to sit in the beautiful Whittemore Park and sketch, draw, and paint together,” says Board Member Charles Luca, who hosts this event.

While there, you can also take a family-friendly museum tour.

About the museum

The Dallin Museum is a hallmark to artist, educator, Indigenous rights advocate, and former Arlington resident, Cyrus Dallin. It contains the largest collection of Dallin’s art in the world, and is open for visits on Saturdays and Sundays, 12 to 4 p.m. Located on the ancestral land of the Massachusett Tribe, the museum pays its respects to their descendants who still inhabit this land today.

Or become a volunteer! Volunteers are crucial to the museum’s daily operations and can help on a weekly, monthly, or as-needed basis. The museum seeks both tour-guide docents and people with experience in development, event planning, marketing, education, graphic/web design, and exhibit fabrication. For more information, contact nblanton@dallin.org or call 781.641.0747.
