Car Put on Blocks after Tires Stolen, Brick Thrown Through Convenience Store Window: Arlington Police Logs

ARLINGTON, MA — The following are excerpts from the Arlington Police Logs. The information below was derived from the Arlington Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Oct. 21
12:59 a.m.: A resident had reported that her 2005 Toyota Prius had been broken into while parked on Morton Road. She stated that the door had been left unlocked, and that coins were taken from the center console. She also reported that other cars in the area had been broken into.
9:43 a.m.: Police were dispatched to Mountain Avenue for a report of a break-in to a vehicle. The woman on scene stated that someone had broken her driver side window and taken her purse. Winchester police later stated that a suspect had been turned in and the woman's purse had been returned to her.

9:48 a.m.: Another resident had reported that their on Morton Road had been broken into and a $300 GPS navigation system had been taken, and it was valued at $300 on Oct. 19.
Oct. 22
6:43 a.m.: Police were dispatched to Mass. Avenue for a report of a person breaking into a convenience store. A softball-sized hole was discovered in the window of the business, but it was determined that a half-brick was thrown into the window. A person at the store said that it didn't appear that much was taken, but that they would not know until a full inventory was taken. The matter is still under investigation.

2:29 p.m.: A resident reported that his fence had been broken, stating that two pickets on the fence had been broken and a portion of the fence was removed from its foundation. He spoke to the homeowner, who stated that he saw a group of youths attempting to jump the fence. The homeowner was advised to contact his insurance company.
Oct. 23
3:42 p.m.: A person reported that his back bumper had been damaged after parking his vehicle overnight. He was advised to contact his insurance company.
Oct. 24
6:59 a.m.: Police reported to Gardner Street for a report of larceny. It was discovered that four tires had been taken from a 2016 Honda Accord overnight, and the vehicle was put on cinderblocks. The vehicle owner stated that they had parked the car at 9:30 p.m., and returned to the vehicle to find that the tires had been stolen. The four tires (including rims) were valued at $1,620. The matter is still under investigation.
