This discussion will be as far reaching as your questions. Kathy Kemp is a licensed occupational therapist and certified geriatric care manager with her own practice, Sage Advice Care Management. She brings with her 25+ years experience working with older adults in psychiatric, rehabilitation, nursing home, and community settings. Kathy served many years at First Parish as a lay minister.
If you are contemplating your own "next steps" as you age or are concerned about a failing parent or partner, the search for help can seem overwhelming and confusing. Kemp, a certified geriatric care manager, will provide solid information on a range of assistance for older adults and those who care for them. Some of us juggle caregiving for both our children and parents. Challenges multiply when you are a distant caregiver or when the situation involves mental illness or memory issues. Kemp will provide information and advice for acute situations as well as thoughtful planning for the future.
