Domestic Assault Results in Confiscated Cash, Weapons
A domestic assault in progress leads Arlington Police into a home with close to a dozen firearms and large amounts of currency.
A domestic assault became even more complicated yesterday evening when officers flagged down by an assault victim entered the home and discovered numerous weapons and a large amount of cash.
Shawn Grierson, 33, was arrested at 6 p.m. on June 28 at 40 Brattle St. after assaulting both a woman and a child in his home. The victim flagged down police saying she feared for her life as well her child's. She said he had multiple firearms.
Officers were dispatched to the scene where they were quickly able to subdue Grierson and take him into custody. Once inside the home, they found "10 guns, plus multiple rounds of ammunition," said Captain Robert Bongiorno of the Arlington Police Department.

Though he was licensed to posess the firearms, the matter is still under investigation. The guns were confiscated and his license revoked on the spot, said Bongiorno. In addition, officers found a large amount of U.S. currency.
"We are working ATF (Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms) and the IRS in a continued investigation," Bongiorno said.
