Triangle, Inc. Honors Medford Participant with 2026 Achievement Award

MEDFORD, MA — A resident who takes part in Triangle, Inc.'s Prism Program was honored this week at the nonprofit's annual awards ceremony and fundraiser.

Matthew Rego took home this year's Achievement Award from Triangle at Celebrate, held recently at the Regattabar at the Charles Hotel in Cambridge. The event raised $125,000 for Triangle, a Malden-based nonprofit that offers programs focused on employment and independent living skills for people with autism and other disabilities.

The award recognized Rego's role in Triangle's Prism Program, which meets the specific needs of autistic young adults who age out of the public school system. In 2022, Triangle launched the program headquartered at 450 Broadway in Malden. Since then, Prism has served more than 100 young adults with autism through a supportive program space, job training, independent living and financial literacy programs, and activities meant to encourage social connection and friendship.

“Matthew is an essential part of the fabric of our community and has contributed greatly to the Prism Program,” Director of Autism Services at Triangle Travis Dion said. “He is always eager to chat about anything from sports to video games and has taken on a leadership role to help guide future program offerings. Matthew shows up eager to face the day’s challenges, big or small, and exemplifies what success can look like for members of Prism.”

Rego joined the program in 2023 and has since earned an IT Certification from Mass Bay Community College. Rego spoke about what the recognition meant to him and why the program has mattered in his life.

“I’m so proud to accept this award as recognition for what I’ve accomplished in my life so far,” Rego said after accepting the recognition. “Prism was a perfect fit for me because they take the time to understand each person and their needs.”

Triangle is based in Malden and describes its services as innovative and comprehensive, with a focus on helping participants build skills for work and more independent daily living.
