Free Public panel discussion on educational alternatives. Part 1 of a 2 part series. Parents, other community members, and people from neighboring towns are all welcome.
Tonight - Independent and alternative schools are starting to grow as a significant alternative to the standard public school model. Costs are dropping, student populations are more diverse, and other changes are ongoing. Meanwhile Public Charter schools now enroll tens of thousands of students with even more waiting to get in. Parents now have many more choices for education than just a few years ago. Important questions continue to face us, about special needs programs, public school funding, bullying rates, social integration of students. A lively discussion is sure to follow.
