Fidelity House Hosts "Bigger Picture" Drive By
In light of the ongoing pandemic, Fidelity House finds a way to interact (from a safe distance) with their community
On Saturday, May 16, Fidelity House "hosted" a "Bigger Picture" Drive By event, which saw over 25 cars full of FiHo families, both past and present, driving by the 25 Medford Street location to say hello to staff members who were lining the street. Fidelity House has been a local institution for over 60 years, and the "Bigger Picture" Drive By was a way to stay connected with their community during the ever-evolving quarantine conditions.
Families who stopped by the event were given a "Bigger Picture" Scavenger Hunt. Each family was given an envelope with a zoomed in picture of a landmark in Arlington. Once figuring out to location of the clue, families were asked to drive to that location, take a family picture in front of the clue, and send it back to Fidelity House.
Despite this event being anything but "normal," it did bring some normalcy to the lives of the Fidelity House community. Children were able to see some of the FiHo staff members that they spend almost every day with during the school year, and the staff were able to briefly catch up with the families that they see on a regular basis. More than anything else, everyone who participated got to enjoy themselves, enjoy each other, and take part in a fun activity, which, at it's core, is what Fidelity House is all about.
