Five Things: Driver Charged in Death of Alanna DeMella
Today is Friday, May 11. Here are five things you need to know.

1. Weekend Weather: Today is expected to be mostly cloudy with a chance of showers after 1 p.m., according to the National Weather Service, but forget about today, Saturday is supposed to be sunny with a high near 78 degrees. On Sunday, temperatures are expected to be in the mid 70s. It’s supposed to be partly sunny Sunday, but there’s also a slight chance of showers after 1 p.m.
2. The Florida woman who drove the car that killed pregnant Peirce teaching assistant Alanna DeMella earlier this year was arrested Wednesday after police found that her blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit at the time of the crash, according to news reports.
3. In its annual report released Tuesday, US News & World Report ranked Arlington High School as the 26th best public high school in Massachusetts, 491st in the nation, earning the school “gold medal” status from the magazine.
