Some lawbreakers have a knack for hiding from police. Others tend to give themselves away by doing things like, in this alleged instance, blowing through a red light and loitering around an apartment building at 5:39 a.m.
Such was the case on Saturday, March 7, according to documents from the Arlington Police Department.

Police say they began following a gray sedan after observing it ignore a red light on Massachusetts Avenue. The car parked in front of a building on Hamilton Road, where 32-year-old Ryan Connolly of Charlestown emerged with two associates. After the trio wandered around the premises for a bit, a suspicious officer asked them for identification and what they were up to.
One of Connolly’s associates said they were waiting to pick up a friend so they could all go to IHOP for breakfast. However, Connolly couldn’t seem to keep his hands out of his pockets, according to police, even after he removed them briefly upon the officer’s request. An ensuing search of Connolly’s person procured an ibuprofen bottle, which appeared to contain a pair of pills - clonazepam and clonidine. Connolly admitted he didn’t have a prescription for either, say police, and was arrested.
