The Council on Aging in Arlington and Lahey Hospital and Medical Center are collaborating to offer A Matter of Balance, starting Friday, May 8 from 10-12 pm for 8 consecutive weeks. This award-winning program helps older adults manage falls and increase activity levels.
A Matter of Balance emphasizes practical strategies to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels. Participants learn to view falls and fear of falling as controllable, to set realistic goals to increase activity, change their environment to reduce fall risk factors, and exercise to increase strength and balance.
