Parsons graduate, Nubia Williams, launches her RTW womenswear line illustrating the neglected and fading culture of Ancient Nubia.
Mark September 30th, 6:30pm-10pm on your calendars for the Nubia Williams RTW Launch Party for Boston Fashion Week at the Artists for Humanity Epicenter!
This is the debut show for this young Parsons School of Design graduate and current Lesley University College of Art and Design Pre-College fashion instructor. Williams successfully raised funds through her “Nubia Comes to Boston” Kickstarter Campaign and will be using these funds to hire young emerging talent from Artists for Humanity and top beauty schools in the Boston area for photography and styling. Williams strives to inspire youth and provide professional/educational opportunities, teaching them how to make their creativity profitable.
For this collection, Williams will be taking you on a cultural journey to Ancient Nubia, the neglected and fading culture who’s pyramids will soon be part of an underwater Atlantis, engulfed by its own Nile river. This culture will be illustrated through both conceptual and Ready-to-Wear pieces. You can expect good music from the infamous DJ Black Mamba of Black Mamba Dance Company, savory food from Gourmet Caterers, delicious beverages, raffles, and gift bags. A night you won’t want to miss! Come support emerging talent!
