• Arlington wants the MBTA to come to town, reversing opposition in 1970s that became a state law - Cambridge (csindie.com) — Arlington leaders have formally asked the Legislature to undo a 1980 law that blocked Red Line stations in town, reopening the door to MBTA subway service through the community. Backed by local state representatives and a Town Meeting vote, the home rule petition comes as the MBTA plans its next decade of projects, raising real prospects for better transit and less traffic congestion in Arlington.
