Pedestrian Hit in East Arlington Crosswalk
The female victim was taken to Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge.

A woman was struck by a Honda Accord early Thursday morning while crossing Cleveland Street at Broadway near Boyle’s Market in East Arlington.
The woman, who was hit at about 6:24 a.m. Thursday, complained of left wrist and ankle pain at the scene and was transported to Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge for treatment.
The driver said he was traveling west, toward Arlington Center, on Broadway when he attempted to take a left turn onto Cleveland Street and, despite swerving, struck the woman at a slow rate of speed.

According to a witness, the driver had a green light and “could not have been going more than 5 mph.” The witness said the victim, who was wearing all black, stepped off the curb without looking. The victim was knocked to the ground when she was hit by the car’s front left fender.
Police cited the driver for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
