The Nashua Telegraph wrote recently about plight of people forced to care for themselves and their beloved companion animals in this rotten economy ... I replied to the article with the comment below. I didn't know until recently how many food banks there are for companions, at least in our area.
This is indeed heartbreaking! Please note that there are several pet food bank programs for people to access if the cost of food is the reason they have to give up their beloved companion. In additional to local food pantries (many stock pet food), people can try here:
