Secretary Ash to Announce Community Scale Affordable Housing Awards In Arlington
Housing and Economic Development Secretary Jay Ash will join the celebration for Affordable Housing Awards in Arlington.

ARLINGTON, MA - From the Commonwealth of Massachusetts: Tomorrow, Housing and Economic Development Secretary Jay Ash will join Housing and Community Development Undersecretary Chrystal Kornegay, Arlington Town Manager Adam Chapdelaine, the Housing Corporation of Arlington, MassHousing and local officials to announce awards from the Community Scale Housing Initiative (CSHI).
The CSHI is a new joint pilot initiative of the Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) and MassHousing, for the production of smaller scale affordable housing projects, between five and 20 units. The pilot program advances the Baker-Polito Administration’s commitment to increasing the production of affordable housing throughout the Commonwealth, by funding affordable housing projects at a scale that will be appropriate in a variety of community settings, including in smaller towns and rural communities. Earlier this month, the Baker-Polito Administration awarded over $70 million in direct funding and more than $28 million in state and federal low income housing tax credits for traditional affordable housing production and preservation across the Commonwealth.
