Snow Removal Efforts Continue In Arlington

Days after the blizzard of 2018, Arlington is still digging out.

ARLINGTON, MA — It feels like there are piles of snow just about everywhere. As of Friday, Arlington got 17 inches of the white stuff - and that's not counting the drifts from the wind and plow action. At some spots a walk down the sidewalk feels more like a walk through a labyrinth -with snow walls on either side mighty tall. Even though the roadways are clear and the near white out conditions of 11:30 a.m. Thursday seem like a dream now, parking downtown has been lost to the snow drifts still in some spots. Enter the DPW:

Sunday night crews from the Arlington Department of Public Works were still working to clear up the snow throughout the town and will be conducting snow removal operations along Mass Ave and Broadway overnight through Monday morning, officials announced Sunday night.

The temperatures are supposed to rise into the double digits (above freezing) this week, so that should help, too.
