Somerville Man Charged with Drunken Driving in Arlington

The man was arrested early Thanksgiving morning.

A 34-year-old Somerville man was arrested at about 5 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 27, on Summer Street in Arlington and charged with operation of a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

Police were called to a Summer Street residence that morning because a vehicle was stuck in the snow and blocking a driveway.

There, an officer found Tyrell W. Taylor, of Russell Road, Somerville, behind the wheel. Taylor appeared to be intoxicated, according to police.

Taylor failed field sobriety tests at the scene and later registered a blood alcohol content of nearly twice the legal limit of 0.08 percent, police said. On Thursday afternoon, he allegedly told police he did not remember what had transpired that morning, and according to police, he was in “complete shock” when he was told he had been arrested for drunken driving.
