Arlington resident Russell Greene is directing his second show with the TCAN Players. He previously directed the Players’ 2014 production of Deathtrap. Other Favorite directing gigs of Russell’s include Falsettos, Nine, and Pippin. Russell holds a B.A. in Theater from UMASS Amherst.

America’s premier funny man Neil Simon and the Tony Award-winning composer of “A Chorus Line,” Marvin Hamlish collaborated on this hit musical, a funny, romantic show about an established composer and his relationship with an aspiring young female lyricist, not unlike Carole Bayer Sager. Professionally, their relationship works beautifully but ultimately leads to conflict on the home front. Of course, there’s a happy ending.

“They’re Playing Our Song” won the 1979 Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical and Best Direction of a Musical. “They’re Playing Our Song” Has a book by Neil Simon, Lyrics by Carole Bayer Sager, with music by Marvin Hamilish.

The production is directed by Russell Greene with music direction by Stephen Peters and choreographed by Kai Cho. The production is generously sponsored by MutualOne Bank. Friday’s opening night audience is invited to a reception immediately following the performance.

“They’re Playing Our Song” opens June 16 and runs for 7 shows through June 25. Performances are at 8pm on June 16, 17 and 22,23, and 24; with Sunday matinees at 2pm on June 18 and 25. Tickets are $25/$23 for members ($20/15 students/seniors), and are available through the box office (508.647.0097); or at www.natickarts.org.

The Center for Arts in Natick is located at 14 Summer Street, Natick, in a restored 1875 firehouse. The theatre is wheelchair accessible.
