The Town of Arlington has conducted several playground safety checks of Town owned playgrounds. These safety checks were conducted by an outside certified playground safety inspector. To the extent that the safety inspector identifies issues that may benefit from repair or replacement to increase playground safety, it may be necessary to temporarily close impacted playgrounds or portions of playgrounds, so that the recommended repairs or replacement work can be completed by the Town of Arlington’s Department of Public Works.

At this time Arlington Recreation and Arlington Public Works are reviewing the needed repairs. Those repairs that can be done with Town staff are underway. There are some items that require the ordering of parts and installation by a certified playground professional and that process is ongoing.
Our goal is to get all of the needed repairs completed as soon as we can and we apologize for any inconvenience related to temporary playground closures that may be necessary. Your patience is appreciated as we continue to work to make sure Arlington’s playgrounds are as safe as possible for all who enjoy them.
