A construction project to upgrade some of the older water pipes in Arlington has been planned by the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority. On Wednesday, reps from the agency will field community questions and concerns.

A statement from the Town of Arlington explains that replacing the century-old, approximately 4,500-foot pipe running from the MWRA Brattle Street station to its Park Circle tank should “provide increased capacity and improve the drinking water distribution system in your area.” A second, 1,200-foot water pipe will also be installed in the place of the existing line joining Pleasant Street and Spring Street.
