Xanax In His Pants: Arlington Police Arrests
Police thought he might have a gun, but it turned out it was just Xanax in his pants.

ARLINGTON, MA — Police arrested Jonathan Franklin, of Cambridge, at 7:58 p.m. on December 2 after police ran a licence plate check on his car and it came back that the insurance was revoked. By the end of the stop police charged the man with driving an uninsured car and for possession of drugs.
They pulled Franklin's car over at the intersection of Mass Ave and Milton Street. Two passengers with Franklin refused to give officers their ID's, so the officer advised them they were free to leave at anytime. They did.
When police told Franklin they were going to tow the car, Franklin refused to leave the car. He finally did when police told him he could take anything from the car he needed. As Franklin was getting out of the car he started taking items from the center console and stuffing it into his front pockets, but was moving in such a way that had both officers suspicious about what he was putting in his pants. The officers asked Franklin if he had any weapons multiple times, and Franklin refused to answer, according to the police report. So they pat frisked the man and found pill bottles containing Xanax.

When police searched the car they said they found other items that indicated drug use and distribution. From several bottles of air freshener in the car - considered a masking technique often used to throw off the scent of narcotics, to several rubber bands on the turn signal lever next to the steering wheel, loose wires and corner bags. They brought in the K9 dog and he showed positive for drugs, though they couldn't find any
Franklin was charged with Uninsured Operation and possession of a Class E drug. Like anyone, he is considered innocent until proven in a court of law otherwise.
