It was tournament jitters for both the Bombardiers and Panthers, as the 5-5 score at the end of the first 8 minutes of play indicated. Jess Blakeman put up the first points for Plymouth South and Bri LaPlume matched it with a shot just inside the arc. A Panther 3 gave the visitors a short lived lead as Emily Houle knotted the score with the first of her 5 three pointers.
The Bombardiers scored the first 9 points of the second 8 minute segment, on baskets by Sarah Deyo, Houle and Kerri Beland. Another Houle 3 ball extended the Attleboro lead and a buzzer beater put back by Beth Clifton gave the Bombardiers a commanding 19-9 lead, as they went into the locker room.
The Panthers opened the second half with a basket inside by 6’1” Christina Jaros. Beland hit both of her free throws and Jaros was successful on another shot, down low. Scores by LaPlume, Beland and Houle gave Attleboro a 34-25 lead, going into the final quarter.

Attleboro once again put up the first 9 points. LaPlume was successful on both of her free throws. Houle and Deyo hit back to back 3’s and Clifton scored on 1 of 2 from behind the charity stripe, giving the Bombardiers a 43-25 lead. The Panthers mini run(6 points)came to an end as Beland hit on a drive to the hoop. Attleboro’s final points came from the free throw line(LaPlume, Houle and Clifton). In the closing seconds of the contest Clifton went down hard and had to come out of the game. Cassie Vivar stepped in to take the free throws and hit on the second, closing out the win for the Bombardiers.
Game ball to Emily Houle, who was tops at both ends of the court, scoring 18 points(career high)and holding the Panthers guard Maddie Norris to 10 points. Emily follows in the footsteps of her grandfather, father and uncles, who also more the Bombardier Blue!

Bri LaPlume and Beth Clifton did an admirable job on the Panthers Jaros, who was limited to 8 points, all in the second half. LaPlume maintained her rebound average, pulling down 10 off the glass and adding 8 points, while Clifton added 9 rebounds. Kerri Beland contributed 11 points and handed out 5 assists while Sarah Deyo had 7 points and 6 rebounds. Once again the Bombardiers out rebounded their opponent, holding a 47-33 advantage.
On Saturday the girls in blue will take their 17-6 record across town to Bishop Feehan, to take on the 4th seeded Shamrocks. Tip off is scheduled for 1:00.
