Drivers in and around Attleboro are urged to avoid I-95 south, seek alternate routes, and expect lingering congestion while officials investigate and clear the scene.

Police search for hammer-wielding suspect in Attleboro donut shop robbery (turnto10.com) — Attleboro police are asking for the public's help identifying a man who robbed Vista Donuts on Washington Street in South Attleboro while armed with a claw hammer early Sunday morning. The suspect, described as a thin white man in his late 20s or early 30s, fled north on Washington Street, and residents are urged to share any tips with detectives referencing the listed case number.
   

3. How a 5-year-old Attleboro boy turned cucumbers into a business (wcvb.com) — A five-year-old Attleboro resident, Donovan Atkinson, has turned extra cucumbers from his family's Attleboro garden into "The Pickle Kid," a roadside pickle stand that sold more than 500 jars. His growing venture is teaching him money skills, customer service, and confidence, while he dreams of someday turning his neighborhood stand into a full pickle business.
   

4. Watch and vote on Manhattan Short Film Festival films at Bristol CC (heraldnews.com) — Attleboro residents can catch the Manhattan Short Film Festival at Bristol Community College's Attleboro campus on Sept. 25 and 26, with doors opening at 6 p.m. and films at 6:30. Tickets are $20, and proceeds from the Attleboro screenings support the Attleboro Campus Fund, letting you enjoy global short films while helping a local cause.
   

5. John Vincent Orecchio (hometownweekly.net) — The community is informed of the passing of 73-year-old John Vincent Orecchio, whose family includes a sister-in-law living in Attleboro. Services will be held Friday, Sept. 11, in Walpole, with interment in Canton, and the family suggests memorial donations to the Donald L. Schomer Epilepsy Education Fund instead of flowers.
