See the Light: A National Juried Exhibition

Each year, the Attleboro Arts Museum hosts a National Juried Exhibition based around a specific theme. In recent previous years, these themes have varied from the likes of Green, On the Threshold and What Goes Around. This year’s edition invited artists to See the Light.

Close to 300 works of art were submitted to the exhibition, each exploring the theme in their own different ways. Some artists chose light as their medium while others have explored different concepts involving light. Marjorie Kaye of Galatea Fine Art in Boston was tabbed as juror for the show, as she carefully narrowed down the pieces to 90 selections in the end.

Mediums in the exhibition include oil, acrylic, fiber, monoprints, found objects and photography.  The wide range of medium results in a spectacular array of different types of talent across the gallery.  From traditional to more “out there,” there should be more than enough thought-provoking work on display to encapsulate the viewer’s mind.  The overall walkthrough of the gallery will feel just a bit different than previous shows at the Museum, given the hints of illumination around each corner.
