1 Hospitalized As Plane Overshoots Provincetown Airport Runway

The plane was carrying the pilot, co-pilot and a passenger.

PROVINCETOWN, MA — One person was hospitalized after a plane overshot the Provincetown Municipal Airport runway, town officials said.

The Cape Air plane arriving from Boston overshot the runway shortly after 8 a.m. Monday, the town of Provincetown posted to social media.

"The aircraft was carrying three individuals, including the pilot, co-pilot, and one passenger," the post said. "While no serious injuries were reported, one individual was transported to the hospital for evaluation."

Smoke was seen. coming from the aircraft but no fire, according to the post.

"Emergency responders arrived quickly, secured the scene, and addressed any potential hazards," the post said.

"The cause of the incident remains under investigation," according to the post, and the National Transportation Safety Board, the Federal Aviation Administration and Massachusetts State Police were notified.
