How Patriots Fans Are Celebrating Super Bowl Weekend: Deals, Dress-Up Days, Wagers

Patch asked readers how Patriots fans and Massachusetts businesses are making the most of the Patriots being back in the big game.

The New England Patriots are back in their rightful place in the Super Bowl this Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks as they play for a seventh NFL championship in the past quarter-century.

Fans are celebrating in the cold and snow across Massachusetts with some school dress-up days and friendly wagers, restaurants and stores running Patriot-themed specials, and Gov. Maura Healey declaring it Patriots Appreciation Weekend in the Bay State.

"Our entire region is cheering on the Patriots as they taken on the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl LX," the proclamation read, in part. "Whereas, Coach Mike Vrabel, a Patriots legend as a player, has created a culture of excellence, accountability and enthusiasm in his transformative leadership of this team; and

"Whereas, We proudly support Drake 'Drake Maye' Maye and all the players, coaches and staff who are full of such incredible talent, grit and dedication; and

"Whereas, the 2025-2026 Patriots are the first team in NFL history to go a perfect 9-0 on the road, earning them the title of 'Road Warriors'; and

"Whereas, Millions of dedicated fans agree the New England Patriots are all we got and all we need.

"Now, Therefore, I, Maura T. Healey, Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, do hereby proclaim Friday, February through Sunday, February 8, 2026 to be New England Patriots Appreciation Weekend."

In Acton, Douglas Elementary School Principal Larry Wolpe entered into a friendly wager with a Seattle-area elementary school, Louisa May Alcott Principal Jon Hedin.

As part of the wager, the losing principal will don the winning team's colors at school on the day after the Super Bowl, complete with spirited apparel to showcase the victor's hometown pride. Both principals have shared messages of good-natured competition with their school communities, encouraging students and staff to join in the fun by cheering on their favorite team, celebrating sportsmanship, and highlighting the connection between the two elementary schools.

"Our students are thrilled to see their principals get in on the action in such a positive way,' said Wolpe. "Whether it's Patriots red, white, and blue or Seahawks blue and green in our hallways, our goal is to model friendly rivalry, unity, and pride in our school communities."

Salem Public Schools students were also urged to show off their Patriots pride by wearing red, white and blue on Friday.

Bagel World in Peabody will be boiling and baking up batches of red, white and blue bagels for sale at its 246 Newbury Street location.

"Coming tomorrow!!!" the shop said on its social media page. "Let's Go Patriots!!!! Aren't a Patriots fan? (We have questions ). That’s okay — Celebrate Team USA with the start of the Winter Olympics! New England has a LOT to cheer for!"

Sal’s Pizza is serving up a big month of specials for Patriots fans across Massachusetts and New Hampshire with Game Day Bundles feeding between 1 to 2 people, or up to 7 to 10 people.

Bundles are available online or in-store at the following Sal's corporate locations, Billerica, MA; Boston, MA (Tremont Street); Chelmsford, MA; Derry, NH; Manchester, NH; and Salem, NH.

Sugar Factory Boston is serving up some big game specials this Sunday and welcoming fans to watch every play with several TV's throughout the Union Wharf restaurant.

Guests can dig into crowd-pleasing favorites like the Red Zone Wings (8 pieces), the Foxborough Hot Dog (a stadium-style classic), the Mini Patriot's Sliders, plus drink specials including a 6-Beer Bucket and Margarita Flight.

Widowmaker Brewing of Braintree brought back its "I See Ghosts" Hazy India Pale Ale for this week, seven years after it debuted the brew following Sam Darnold's declaration that he was "seeing ghosts" playing against the Patriots defense as a member of the New York Jets.

With his career revived in Seattle, the brewery decided to bring back the reminder of dangerous days gone by for his game at its Braintree and Brighton locations with special four-packs.

The Animal Rescue League of Boston is reducing all adoption fees for dogs to $60 in honor of the LX big game as part of its partnership with the Pawtriots. With shelters at capacity, reduced adoption fees are available on Friday and Saturday.

"Help us get these MVPs off the sidelines and into homes!" the shelter said.
